PTO Newsletter - October 2022

Welcome to Fall Sol Feinstone Families,

The school year is off to a great start and we're so excited for all the activities to come. Read on to learn what's going on in our school community and be sure to mark your calendar and join in this year's activities.

Here are some updates from our PTO meeting on October 7:

  • The PTO has been busy planning this year's activities and helping teachers get situated in their new classrooms.
  • Recent PTO contributions to the school include flags and rugs for many of the new classrooms, umbrellas for the staff to use on rainy days during arrival/dismissal, supplies for the after school clubs and some math games and books for the grade level teams.
  • If you haven't already, please join the Sol Feinstone PTO. It gives you the opportunity to get involved in your children's school. It gives you access to the school directory, both printed and online, and it helps us raise money. All money raised by the PTO goes back to the school community. SIGN UP TODAY
    • The winners of our PTO membership contest were Mrs. Yorgey's kindergarten classes for K-2 (AM and PM tied) and Mrs. Lilienfeld's class for 3-6. The PTO will provide each class with an ice cream party for their outstanding participation.
    • Homeroom parents and class photographers have been selected for each class. Thank you to all who volunteered. We had over 80 volunteers for homeroom parent and over 40 for classroom photographer. Make sure you share your contact information with your homeroom parents and be on the lookout for information from them throughout the year about things happening in the classrooms.
    • We still need volunteers to join our committees, help with activities and more. If you want to get involved, please send a note to SFEPTO1090@gmail.com.

SFE principal, Mr. Harlan, joined us and shared some updates, including:

  • The school year is off to a great start. It's so nice to finally have things back to normal.
  • The construction is moving along as planned and another group of teachers and students will move into new classrooms in January.
  • We've kicked off our Soar to Success program again this year and the students continue to be excited about it.
  • The district is now offering free breakfast every morning. Students can pick up a breakfast package between 8:30 and 9:10 and take it to eat in their classroom.
  • There's a ton going on this fall. We look forward to seeing many parents at the Halloween parade. Look for details below and in Mr. Harlan's weekly email.

Please plan to join us for our next PTO meeting at 9:15 AM on Friday, November 4 in the gym/cafeteria. We will also be hosting an evening PTO meeting at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, November 9. The evening meeting is a great opportunity to learn more about our school community and get involved if you can't make it to our monthly meetings on Friday mornings.
