Happy Thanksgiving!

Fall has been an exciting time at SFE. The students and staff have enjoyed bringing back many traditional activities and some new ones too. The PTO and all of our volunteers have also enjoyed being back in the school.

Here are some updates from our November PTO meeting: 

• Mix it up day was a huge success. It was so nice to see the students coming together and learning about Diwali. Thanks to the Diversity Committee for making it happen.
• Thanks to all our homeroom parents and class photographers who helped with our Halloween festivities.
• We're so close to our PTO membership goal, one of our biggest annual PTO fundraisers. If you haven't already, please sign up at SFEPTO.com. 
• We always need volunteers. If you want to help, please send a note to SFEPTO1090@gmail.com and make sure your clearances are current and on file.
  

SFE principal, Mr. Harlan, joined us and shared some updates, including:

• The students really enjoyed Mix it up day and the Halloween parade.
• If you want to volunteer in the school, please make sure your clearances are on file with the district. 
• Conferences are underway. Enjoy this opportunity to connect with your children's teachers.
• Report cards will be available at 4pm on November 24. As a reminder, there are no report cards for the first marking period for grades K-2.

Please plan to join us for our next PTO meeting at 9:15 on Friday, December 3 in the SFE APR. It's pajama day, so feel free to help us support CHOP and wear your pjs.

Hootie's Hut, our school store, had a great first day with over $1200 in sales. Hootie's will be open a couple days each month. Check the calendar for dates and send your students with some money. Items range from $.05-$5 and include pencils and other school supplies as well as bouncy balls and other fun little toys. 

Hootie's Hut will also host a special holiday shop the week of December 6. Each class, including kindergarten, will have an opportunity to do some holiday shopping.

Celebration books can make a great holiday gift and help us refresh and replenish the library. Donate to the library and your child can select a book to have a placard with his/her name inserted in the front. To learn more or purchase a Celebration Book, click here. 

Monday, November 22 and Tuesday, November 23 are Blue and White Spirit Days. Wear blue and white to show your Sol Feinstone spirit.

Friday, December 3 is Pajama Day. Wear pajamas and support CHOP.

SFE says YAY to Pajama Day! Support the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia by making a tax-deductible donation by Friday, December 3. Our goal is to collectively raise $2,500. Step 1: Donate $5-10 (or more!) to benefit CHOP. Step 2: Students wear pajamas to school on Friday, December 3. (Photo op!) This year's Sweetheart Dance will be at Goodnoe Elementary due to the construction at SFE. More details to come, but save the date for fun in Candyland.

Susannah McDonald, a 4th grader in Mr. Kinkead's class, was the winner of our pumpkin contest. Congratulations Susannah and thank you to all who participated.

Thanks to all who donated candy. We collected and shipped 5 large boxes, delivered a mini van full, and also dropped off 4 big bags.

We're looking for committee chairs for the following:

-Hospitality- Coordinate refreshments for out of school hour events (concerts, etc)

-Raffle baskets - We're looking to bring back one of the students' favorite things from Spring Fair, raffle baskets. 

Whether you have a little or a lot of time to give, we can use your help.

We are still looking for photographers to take pictures at various activities, spirit days, etc this year. Reach out to Stacy Keeler or Nicolette Myslinski if you want to help.

Purchase a pretzel on Friday mornings to support our 6th grade class. Pretzels can be purchased on your way into school for $1. You can also purchase Pretzel Coupons. A sheet of 10 coupons is $10. Purchase on the SFE PTO website and the coupons will be sent home with students.

Thanks to all who supported our school through this fundraiser. We already raised over $3000! 

You can still place an order through Friday, December 3. 40% of all orders will go to the SFE PTO to support our school.

If you haven't already, create or link a MTK account to access the site's full contents, including directory and more.

1. Go to www.sfepto.com or www.sfepto.membershiptoolkit.com 
2. Click on Register/login button on the right
3. If you already have an account with another organization in MTK you can use the same email, and password to login
4. Select “create account” and fill in the fields
5. Click “verify my email” - then check your email for link to complete process: Note the link expires in 2 hrs
6. Once verified, login and finish the registration process

Once the Primary Account setup is complete, you can invite others to access the family account as a secondary user.
